The Oncology Service

We understand that the news that your pet has been diagnosed with cancer can be devastating. Each pet and their family’s needs are unique, which is why we approach each case individually. After a thorough examination of the pet, a review of all diagnostic tests and consultation with the family, we develop a customized approach to care that may include the following treatment options alone or in combination:

  • Conventional chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy consultation
  • Surgery
  • New, investigational therapies
  • Palliative or supportive care

Nearly all pets diagnosed with cancer have the potential to receive some form of treatment. Our primary goal is always to maintain the best quality of life for a pet. The extent and duration of therapeutic treatment is dependent on many factors, including the type of the cancer, stage of the disease, available therapies and how the pet responds to the treatment.

Advanced Diagnostic Modalities

The Oncology Service is equipped and trained to provide comprehensive care for cancer patients. Our team will provide timely access to an array of diagnostic services for those patients without a diagnosis or those in need of staging tests. Our goal is to transition this information into an individualized set of options for each pet and family.

Cutting-edge Treatment Options

Treatment options are tailored for each pet based on the goals, potential side effects and estimated costs. In addition to our standard oncologic care, we are able to provide a variety of clinical trial opportunities that may suit your pet’s needs. Through a close affiliation with our sister company, Animal Clinical Investigation (www.animalci.com), these clinical trials and compassionate use programs provide novel treatment approaches for cancer and are often available at limited or no cost to you.

A Team Approach To Care

We believe that success is best achieved by close collaboration between our oncology team, the primary care veterinarian and you. It is our intent to maintain strong lines of communication and clarity in order to provide the highest level of care for every pet and family. This philosophy also places our practice at a big advantage by having the other TLC specialists accessible and available to work closely through our direction in the provision of multi-disciplinary and multi-modality therapy for cancer.

We Are Here For You

All of our oncology doctors are available to answer questions or review treatment options directly by email, cell phone or through our main telephone line. Please call or e-mail with any questions you may have.
